What is "a safe place" Aftershool?

"a safe place" Afterschool is a hands-on, evidence based program for grades 1-5. It is our philosophy, that all children are brilliant. They may learn in different ways or at different speeds but they all have something valuable to offer. This is not only a physically safe place, but one where students can express their ideas without ridicule and try different things without fear of failure.

Change My Direction! is designed to support and assist parents/caregivers as they work to develop their child's literacy skills in their homes at no or low cost. However, that is not all it offers.

Since its inception. volunteer artists have taught creative writing workshops for aspiring poets and writers. The artists were mentors through the processes of developing portfolios and performances.

Currently, Expressions is leading writing workshops at the Star of Hope as a part of their GED program.
