What We Do and Why We Do It.
Eagles Wings Community Outreach Center (EWCOC) was founded to help at-risk youth and children and disenfranchised populations make positive life choices. It’s Mission: “To empower the underserved, rural communities; beginning in the Perris Valley, CA , and extending throughout the United States, through the creation of educational opportunities, support networks and partnerships with families, schools, and businesses." Our programs were developed to address community needs as identified in the United Way Community Needs Assessment (2004); identifying after school care, education, crime and gang prevention, as well as technical and vocational education as high need areas. EWCOC has provided all of the above services with a dedicated group of professionals and community volunteers for over 6 years; developing a number of programs, providing consistent services to local youth and engaging in community partnerships with the school district, police department, Cops and Clergy and other service organizations . EWCOC received funding from First 5 Riverside and Southern Calfornia Edison(SCE) to support Change My Direction and "a safe place" Afterschool. SCE also provided capacity building workshops for nonprofits. EWCOC participated. Through its partners, SCE also donated several laptops for the computer lab. Our continuing association with the Perris Elementary School District resulted in technological in-kind donations that will benefit all programs. | Board of Directors
